The Global Water Cycle: Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation & Collection
Water is the miraculous lifeblood of all living things! In this scientific exploration, we follow a single droplet of water on its endless global journey through the water cycle. We uncover how solar heat causes evaporation, how cooling creates clouds through condensation, how clouds release precipitation (rain or snow), and how runoff collects into rivers, lakes, oceans, and groundwater aquifers.
💧 4 Key Stages of the Water Cycle
Liquid to Gas
Solar energy warms liquid water in seas, turning it into invisible, rising water vapor gas.
Gas to Clouds
Rising water vapor cools in upper atmosphere, condensing into billions of micro-droplets forming clouds.
Falling Rain
When droplets grow too heavy for air currents to hold, they fall as rain, snow, or hail.
Returning Water
Rainwater flows into rivers, lakes, and oceans, or seeps deep underground to replenish aquifers.
🌊 Freshwater vs Saltwater Balance
Over 97% of Earth's water is salty ocean water. Less than 3% is freshwater, and most of it is locked in polar ice caps or deep underground. In Egypt, the sacred River Nile provides over 95% of our freshwater. Conserving every single drop is our shared national responsibility.
