My Big Feelings & Caring Heart: Understanding Emotions and Being Kind! 😊😢😡😨🌬️
We all experience different emotions every single day, and that is completely natural and healthy! Sometimes we feel super happy when we build a tall block tower or play with our best friends. Sometimes we feel sad if our toy breaks or someone hurts our feelings. Sometimes we feel angry when things do not go our way, or scared when we hear sudden loud thunder. All feelings are okay, but what matters most is how we express them! When we feel upset or angry, we can take slow, deep breaths, count to five, and use gentle words to explain how we feel instead of shouting. We also care for our friends when they feel sad!
🌈 Garden of Daily Emotions
• Happiness (Big Smile 😊): When playing fun games, achieving goals, or receiving a warm hug.
• Sadness (Gentle Tears 😢): When losing a toy or feeling left out; comforted by a caring friend.
• Anger (Tense Frown 😡): A natural feeling that signals we need a calming pause.
• Fear (Startled Eyes 😨): An alarm warning us to stay alert and seek an adult's safety.
🌬️ Calming Breath & Empathetic Kindness
• Magic Balloon Breathing: Breathe in deeply through the nose filling your belly balloon, then exhale slowly through the mouth.
• Speaking With Words: Saying: «I feel upset because...» instead of shouting or throwing objects.
• Caring for Friends: Comforting a tearful classmate, sharing toys, and saying kind words.
