Building Bigger Quantities: Numbers 6 to 10 & Ten-Frames 🔟🌟
Greetings, superstar mathematicians! Now that we have mastered numbers 1 to 5 with one hand, we open both hands to discover the grand family of numbers up to 10! When we take one full hand of 5 fingers and raise 1 more finger on our other hand, we build number six (6)! Adding 2 fingers gives us number seven (7), like the seven colors of a vibrant rainbow. Raising 3 fingers gives us number eight (8), like the eight tentacles of an octopus. With 4 fingers we reach nine (9), and when all ten fingers on both hands are open wide, we celebrate number ten (10)! Today, we will explore the ten-frame model, write two-digit numbers, represent sets with tallies and drawings, and count like true experts!
